We are Global , Independent , Non-Profit , Non-Political , and Non-Governmental student society. Peace to the world, Progress in the world and Stability for the world !
The International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) was founded in 1957 in Tunisia, during a time of global recovery after World War II. Agricultural students from various nations, driven by a common vision of peace, progress, and international understanding, came together to create a platform for collaboration, cultural exchange, and the advancement of agricultural knowledge. Over the decades, IAAS has grown into one of the largest student organizations in its field, now present in more than 50 countries worldwide, fostering innovation, sustainability, and leadership among future agricultural professionals.
Bangladesh became an official member of IAAS on October 10, 2017, with the establishment of IAAS Bangladesh at Khulna University, Khulna. Since its inception, IAAS Bangladesh has expanded rapidly, building a strong network of agricultural students across the nation. Today, it oversees 19 Local Committees in 19 universities, each actively working to address pressing agricultural challenges, promote scientific research, and contribute to sustainable development goals through youth-led initiatives.

The IUBAT—International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, Dhaka made history by becoming the 16th Local Committee of IAAS Bangladesh and the first private university in the country to join this esteemed network. Officially inaugurated on November 14, 2024, IAAS Bangladesh IUBAT was founded by eight pioneering Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students, united by their shared mission to advance agricultural education and innovation. Recognized by the IUBAT Registrar’s Office, the Local Committee is guided by a 10-member Advisory Board, led by the Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and nine distinguished professors, who provide strategic guidance, academic mentorship, and vision for impactful student engagement.
As the pioneering private university in this network, IUBAT amplifies its commitment to nurturing future agricultural leaders while contributing fresh perspectives to Bangladesh’s agrarian development. Through collaboration, innovation, and education, the Local Committee stands as a beacon of progress within the IAAS community and beyond.
IAAS emerged because the youth of that era wanted to cultivate what is called:
Peace to the world,
Progress in the world, and
Stability for the world.
With our vision, we want to create a better world by cultivating these three foundational values through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and ideas, while increasing multicultural understanding in agriculture and related sciences around the world.
