Industrial Tour 2026

Hosted by IAAS Bangladesh IUBAT
April 30, 2026 Diamond Egg Limited, Kapasia, Gazipur, Dhaka

That day felt a little different from usual. On Thursday, 30 April, students of the International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS) Bangladesh IUBAT from the College of Agricultural Sciences of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology left their classrooms behind. About 55 members attended classes outside, on the factory floor, where theory meets reality.

In Kapasia, Gazipur, Diamond Egg Limited and its sister concern Diamond Agro and Grains Limited have stood for more than two decades. Starting as a simple layer farm, it has grown into one of Bangladesh’s most technology-driven poultry complexes, featuring automated egg collection, modern hatchery systems, and a large feed mill under one management system, making it a national reference in biosecure poultry production.

The journey started at 8:30 am from the IUBAT campus towards Kendua, Bir Ujoli, Kapasia to visit Diamond Egg and Diamond Agro Limited under the academic supervision of Dr. Md. Abdus Sabur Talukdar. During the bus ride, students shared curiosity and excitement about what they would experience inside. Upon arrival, the team was welcomed and introduced to a highly organized system where millions of eggs are produced daily through fully automated conveyor systems, ensuring minimal human contact. From layer pullets to storage and grading, every process is carefully managed. Broken eggs are even reused as fish feed, reflecting efficient resource utilization.

The hatchery section demonstrated precise temperature control, incubation, candling, and chick processing, along with vaccination and biosecurity practices. Even a one-degree temperature change was shown to be critical for embryo survival.

The feed unit highlighted corn-based formulation, automated cleaning, mixing, and heat processing systems, producing large volumes of feed daily with strict quality control. The visit concluded with reflection on how Bangladesh’s poultry industry has transformed into a technology-driven, science-based system. The program ended successfully under academic supervision, with gratitude expressed to Diamond Egg Limited and all participants.
