Partner Field School Visits

The second session of the Partner Field School under the Upazila Agriculture Ministry took place at Haolader Bari, Dumki, Patuakhali. Eight PFS units are currently running across farmer communities in the area. Since Boro season is ongoing, the session focused on four HYV rice varieties — BRRI dhan-100, 101, 102, and 104. Farmers brought field-collected insects for observation, distinguishing beneficial ones like ladybird beetles from harmful ones like stem borers. Fertilizer guidance was given using local terms farmers already knew. The session ended with a game, refreshments, and open conversation. The farmers' enthusiasm and eagerness to learn made it genuinely worthwhile.
