Description of the Project: The coastal region of Patuakhali, Bangladesh faces challenges such as saltwater intrusion, waterlogging, and climate variability, negatively impacting agricultural productivity and food security. Additionally, women in agriculture (43% of the workforce) remain underrecognized and untrained in modern techniques.
Project Noyagram targets 30 women from medium- to large-sized families, providing hands-on training in climate-resilient agriculture and aquaponics.
A women-led homestead agriculture school will be established, allowing participants to learn innovative farming methods, soil salinity management, and waterlogged land cultivation.
Collaboration with Patuakhali Science and Technology University, government extension workers, and agricultural experts ensures practical research-backed solutions for sustainable development.
The initiative aims to integrate farming and aquaculture, enhancing livelihoods, economic independence, and food security for women in coastal Bangladesh.
